What are the benefits of the Tiny Little Miracle journal?
Clear your mind
Use the journal to note down all the details about your baby’s day: feeding, expressing, sleep, growth and development. Having this information on hand will help you understand your baby’s rhythms. You can also take the journal to your doctor.
Take care of yourself
Life with a new baby can be wonderful. But there’s also more responsibility, less time for you and your partner, and more exhaustion than you ever imagined. That’s why looking after yourself is so important. By caring for yourself, you’ll put yourself in the best position to become the parent you want to be.
“Having a new baby can be very lonely and confusing. As a young mum I made new friends through my local community, mums’ group and online forums. I wanted this journal to feel like the best friend who supports you through those early days, and the challenges that motherhood brings. So I asked Aussie women with young babies to share their best tips, which you’ll find throughout the journal. “ Kasia Gospoś, Founder of Leaders in Heels
Positive thinking and celebrating little wins can help reduce stress and bring more joy. You will find a “My Little Wins” section on every daily page. Use this to congratulate yourself and practise positive self-talk. The more you do it, the more you will notice its benefit to your life.
Gratitude strengthens relationships, improves health, reduces stress, and generally makes us happier. And there is a lot of to be grateful for in those early days, even if it doesn’t feel like that in the moment. That’s why we’ve included a gratitude section on each daily page. If you actively choose to practice GRATITUDE, you’ll create great memories for the future, and also realise how far you’ve come.
Have a laugh
It can be hard at first, to learn to live with the challenges and chaos that a baby brings. This is normal, and it does get easier! So we’ve included some lighter moments in the journal to keep you grounded. There is nothing more freeing than having a little bit of laugh.
Lastly, on each daily page there’s some space for your own notes. Use it to track milestones, baby’s first experiences or any specific details you want to remember.
The story behind the journal
My first child, Jordan was so eager to come into the world that he was born a whole month earlier than I expected. As a first-time mum, I was already feeling overwhelmed, but to have a premmie baby who needed extra care and couldn’t suck on his own, I struggled a lot. Not only did I have to feed him every 2-3 hours like most babies, but I also had to express in between feeds. This went on for two whole months!
Back then, I tracked everything through a blank notebook, but I would have given anything to have a structured journal to record it all. So when I finally emerged from those months of sleepless haze, I decided to create one myself, for other new mums. I also experienced both the loneliness and the utter chaos of new parenthood, so I filled the journal with advice from other mums – I want it to feel like a good friend talking you through those tough times.
I have two sons now – the joys of my life and no longer babies! I’m so glad to have recorded their precious baby moments to look back on.
“Babies grow so fast! Enjoy those little moments, as they will become memories sooner than you think. Kasia Gospoś, Founder of Leaders in Heels
